Linked Away’s Tottenham player says he’s ‘happy’ at Spurs

Speak with Football LondonJaphet Tanganga has discussed recent transfer speculation linking him with a move from Tottenham.

The defender flew to South Korea for Spurs’ pre-season tour while some other linked stars stayed home to move away from north London.

Tanganga has been heavily linked with a transfer this summer but the defender doesn’t pay much heed to rumours, explaining they are just speculation into which he doesn’t read too much.

what was said

Tanganga spoke about his future.

“It’s just speculation and I don’t interpret too much into speculation. My focus is just happy to be back, injury free and helping the team as much as I can and ready when I’m challenged,” he said.

“It’s about being ready. There was a time when Cristian Romero was injured and the coach asked me to play in that position. I’m just grateful to play as many games as possible and I just like to play whenever the coach wants me to.”

Good choice

Tanganga seems ready to be an option going deep and to be honest he would be a great option for Tottenham off the bench.

The defender might not be Spurs’ first choice but let’s not forget that he’s a very talented player himself and he’s incredibly versatile too.

He can play in the back three while he has also featured at right-back in the past and as a homegrown player Spurs will certainly be able to find space for him.

Tanganga can leave Spurs but if he stays he will be a very good option at depth.
