After multiple delays, fans finally know what date the highly-anticipated sequel ‘Hungama 2’ will release and where they can watch online.
Most movie fans are fairly used to waiting a long time for sequels of their favourite films.
However, there hasn’t been a gap quite like the one between Hungama and its upcoming spiritual sequel…over 17 years!
The first movie premiered in 2003 and was a huge success both domestically and internationally, becoming a cult classic amongst many teenagers at the time.
Now, almost two decades later, we are finally getting a much-deserved successor.

Hungama 2: Release date
- At the time of writing, an official release date for Hungama 2 is set for July 23rd, 2021.
The movie was initially scheduled to premiere in theatres on August 14th, 2020. However, like countless other television and cinema projects, had to be delayed because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Filming for Hungama 2 resumed in early-October with Shilpa Shetty posting to Instagram saying, “First day #hungama on set before we roll. Sanitisation drill cause safety comes first. The new normal has taken over and how?!”
“After staying in all these months due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have resumed the shoot of Hungama 2 amid the new normal. We are beginning the third schedule in Manali and totally looking forward to some great time together.” – Priyadarshan, via Bollywood Hungama.
Today, June 30th, it was officially confirmed that Hungama 2 will premiere on July 23rd, 2021. However, this concerns the digital release, see below for more.
Hungama 2 trailer…
The official trailer for the sequel movie is reportedly releasing on July 1st.
An exact release time has not been confirmed, but this article will be updated as soon as the trailer goes live.
Hungama 2 digital streaming…
Alongside confirmation that the movie would release on July 23rd, it was revealed that Hungama 2 would premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar.
At the time of writing, no other streaming service has revealed partnered broadcasting rights, so expect Hungama 2 to release as an original project.
